whats the source of the problem?

okay, so, i got myself a beautiful black friday deal on an Acer 22" widescreen monitor...which is absolutely pristine. the problem is that when i turn it off while my computer is still on, it wont pick up a signal when i turn it back on. i have to restart my computer to get it to respond.
my video card is a Sapphire Radeon 9600PRO, and im using the DVI connection on the monitor. this isnt really a problem, just more of a nuisance...so, any ideas on what the problem might be?

Its a pretty unusual problem what I suggest you do is when you turn off your monitor while your computer is still on, try to unplug the connector physically when you turn your monitor back on and plugging it back in.
