What's with the locked threads?

Hey. In the CPU section, whats up with the 4 locked threads below? The very last post in each of them is completely harmless, and it took place in like 2004-2005. Does anyone notice that/know whats going on? Why are these posts locked, and why did they reappear if they are from years ago? Just wondering, it seemed a little fishy to me.

WTF is that, first two Smiling (last post user name) guys are praetor and 2nd two are some random guys, wtf is going on???

Just to mention this, there is no member by the name "Smiling" and the last poster on those 4 threads is named "Smiling", something is going on.

Yeah, I was wondering if someone hacked the site or something. And tweaker, thats not the issue. Someone named "Smiling" supposedly posted last, but there is no post from him. And they are all locked, and from years ago. Some admin's or moderators might want to look into this.

I would imagine that Smiling originally bumped the posts, and then he, and all his posts were deleted, probably for breaking the forum rules.

smiling account was deleted for spamming the forum.
He had made a few posts resurrecting old threads, none of which appeared to be of any real value. There is no problem as such with resurrecting old threads if there is a genuine interest in that topic. Sometimes people find threads here from search engines which may be old, there is no problem posting in those threads.

34erd, why did you delete your post?
i can see it and agree that he was correct to delete it :)

as for the locked thread, well i did that. Similing was resurecting ancient threads to add no value to them, furthermore his other activities raised suspicion, on the back of which he was banned.
Those threads contained usefull discussion (albeit old) and therefore i did not want to delete them.
They will soon pass out of scope and memory.

but a thanks to all users for being so vigilent

Alright, thanks guys. I was just worried someone could have like hacked and been locking threads. Thanks for informing us. Derek
