what's wrong now? can't move any documents

I've been moving my Word documents into their proper folder.
But today none will move when I click on the icon and try to drag it to the folder.

Inside the folder, I can't move any of them around (I usually can)

So I wondered if the folder is full? and I created a new folder - but I cannot move any documents from their location in My Documents.

What is wrong, and any ideas about how to get them to move again?
What might help?

Thanks

you are running windows i assume?

Is your hard drive full?

Are the files locked, or in use by another application when trying move them?

Is this a work computer where you have disk quotas?

are you just copy/paste them or cut/paste?

Are you moving them from a network drive, or just reorganizing them on your computers local HD?

You'll want to right-click the folder that you're talking about, and make sure the "Read-only" box in the "Attributes" section is not checked... this could be the cause.

thanks for the ideas

I will try the suggestions

yes this is windows

how do I know if files are locked?
it's a home computer, not work.

now I'll try

when I right click I get grey box that has a list:
Open/New/Print/Quickview/Scan with Norton/Send To/Cut/Copy/Create Shortcut/Delete/Rename/Properties

and if right click again I get another grey box with this list:
View/Customize this Folder/Arrange Icons/Line Up Icons/Refresh/New/Properties

where is "read only" box in "Attributes" section?
