whats wrong with my brand new keyboard

i bought this keyboard below the other day and now am having a problem with it. straight outta the box the shift key on the left side did not work nor did the enter key on the side where the letters are work..but the one on the right side where the numbers are does. now does anyone know if there's something special you have to do to get these keys to work or if i just have a defective board? also it takes like 5 minutes for the board to work at all when i first turn the computer on.

It's probably just the keyboard, but before you do anything with the exchanges, try a different keyboard and see if you get the same problems...
