What's wrong with this board

Well... seeing as it's already ended I don't know why I'm responding :P Hehe, it's probably some chip on the board. Could be something as simple as a capacitor, or something more complex. Could even be a physical scratch that cuts a foil run.
 
I would personally steer clear of those auctions. 99.9% of the time it doesn't work and those people trying to sell it is just ripping you off.

If you can provide us with a more high quality picture or close up shot's of anything that you find might be the problem, we can probably help you diagnose more. I'm not saying that the problem may be seen with the naked eye, but it's probably the first place to start.
