What's Your Battery Life Like (Smartphones)

Title says it all. Even before my battery started acting up I felt like my battery life was pretty absymal.

What phone do you have and what kind of battery life do you get out of it as well as your usage patterns?

I charge mine to 100% and after using it for texting and browsing internet occasionally, it is down to about 40 percent battery after 6-7 hours. I need to charge my phone when I get home from school or it won't last me through the day.

For the most part my battery will last me the whole day but just barely so better battery life would be great. I am usually near a computer or an outlet so I will plug my phone in if possible to keep the battery topped off.

I have a Droid Razr which I got before the Razr Maxx came out (same phone butwith larger battery). I would have gotten the Razr Maxx if it had been available.

Nokia Lumia 710 - I can manage just over one whole day on a single charge and that's with the phone doing nothing. I charge it every night.

Samsung E4GT. I had a a battery from the batch of bad ones and it was pretty bad. Sprint replaced it for free and now I get about a day of fairly moderate usage. If I charge it on a Friday night, I can make it until Sunday afternoon (no work stuff).

note iii - varies between 25 percent after 12 hours use or as high as 70 percent if i just play a game or two on it briefly and keep it sittin around.

Here's my usage today on my Nexus 5. My battery drains quicker than it normally would because I've been playing a lot of Tiny Death Star

You don't have LTE where you live yet? And FYI you can't really count battery run time when you charge it during the day ;)

I don't have LTE activated on my plan yet. Also, if you notice, the time on battery is less than the uptime. So even though I charged it I can count it ;)

I have a S3. I use mine for gmail/work email texting and calls. Maybe some web browsing if I get the free time. I usually 40% battery left at the end of the day? I have DU battery saver if that makes any difference.

That's a lot better than mine. We'll see what the battery life is like with the new batteries I'm getting. 2300 mAh each, so 200 more than regular.

I get 1 day battery on light apps like FB, whatsapp, calling, gmail.
Games just drain my battery, I play Clash of Clans, on that battery works hardly 6-7 hours. All this on Nexus 4.

People mostly told me to give priority to battery life while buying a phone. But mostly during the day I am at work or home so charging ports are close to me. So it is not much a problem.

Waiting for 4.4 update to see whether it makes a difference on battery life.

I got it 3 months ago and barely use it more than just call text and email. My needs are pretty basic. I have all of my applications that want to sync set to manual so they are not wasting battery life during the day.

Battery Life

I use my iPhone 4s for text messages, email, phone. I have been getting 2 days out of one charge. I upgraded from a flip phone. Those things are so awkward and clumsy. They take about four hours to charge.

Well my GS3 has beena acting a bit better. I think I broke the charging port slightly because it's really inconsistent. Sometimes it will charge but normally it's either really slow or not at all. It'll say it's plugged in and charging but won't actually gain a percentage. I've tried with 3 different batteries and several cords and chargers. All act the same.

Kind of annoying but not a big deal since I now have 2 new batteries and a battery wall charger plus the original battery if I need it.

It really does depend how much you have used it and doing what that day, I have a huawei G510 and if i only call or text it only drops about 30% over the day, again depends how much calling & texting.

You can also extend your battery life by carefully adjusting your settings, turn your screen brightness to a sensible level, if it doesn`t bother you use a dark plainish wallpaper, either disable notifications or at least raise the timescale of them.

One thing I have found battery saving apps not only don`t work, but actually run your battery down quicker.

Most phones come with a pretty crappy battery, browse ebay and you will find plenty of higher grade batteries for little money.
