what?you got a budget on 160?
then dont think about the 8600gt cos rainbow six vegas 2 that you'd like to play aint gonna run smoothly on it with high effects.
it seems that 3850 is not bad for you.

Don't get HD3850!
$160 enough for a 9600GT

Or the cheaper 8800GS is cheaper, but with similar performance with HD3850

best bang for your buck of any card i've seen so far. the quality of this card is outstanding, and it's pretty sleek and compact, not to mention pretty quiet (compared to other cards i've owned. so far it has run every game i've thrown at it at 50+ fps with maxed out settings (with the exception of crysis which with maxed out settings and no AA ran at 30+ fps at all times). Frontlines, Test Drive Unlimited, COD4, World in Conflict, you name it, this card will run it well.

someone tells this about it,haha

or the MSI one got almost the same performance with the same price
I recommend MSI cos Foxconn is an OEM manufacturer before.

hmm..so which one should i go with? i could up my budget to 200..but i only have one gig of ram and felt an extra gig is needed

oh...you should tell us the max that you can afford...
with 200 bucks you can even purchase a overpowering 8800GT.but as you told one gig ram is a big headache problem.I even wanna lend you some money to solve it...just kidding :D
get yourself a 9600gt and a gig ram extra.enjoy yourself.
