So, for some reason, I cannot get my machine back to stock clocks and it bugs me. Before I messed with anything it would read 2900MHz, and now it shows up as 2912. I also can't get Cool N' Quiet to work, which I really want because the power bill is already ridiculous here. (>$300/mo)

Everything is set to auto in the BIOS but the RAM, and all I did was set it to the correct specs of 7-8-7@[email protected] instead of 9-9-9@[email protected].
 
I know how to clear the CMOS, but I thought using the factory reset on it would do the same thing. That's even what Ghost's link says to do...?

It's a Gigabyte board, too, so i'm pretty sure that option loads the backup...
 
A BIOS update would also clear your settings back to default. try that. Otherwise the standard procedure of:

Removing power plug, then cmos battery, hold pc power buttom for ~5 seconds, replace battery and power plug, and boot up.
