when are these things coming out

hi im about 2 buy my new comp in a month and i was wondering when is vista coming out and how much will it be and when is am2 coming out

ok so i should drop my raptor and get am2 wont that cost a litle more on ram aswell like the raptor is worth 140 so i could go up to a 3800+ am2 for extra like 40 but what about ram upgrade

AM2 is one of AMD's new processors that will support DDR2 ram, they use a 940 socket (thats different to any opty's) , Can't exactly remember whats what but I know that the AM2 is part or will be released around the FX-62 and 5200 x2!

Damn... I shoulda waited to buy that instead of rushing ahead and getting the amd x2... I hope there won't be too much difference for my sake! >.<

Now that I thought of it, wouldn't that mean brand new motherboards for the socket 940s which would mean like $200 for a whole new mobo? I was on a very tight budget, and my mobo was only like 100 bucks... So I don't know... I could always return the thing as I haven't even opened it...

well how much would it be for the upgrade to a 940 socet mobo and ddr2 ram woudl 140 cover the price of teh upgrade consider the original price of these things just the 140 as a bonus

DDR2 can be significantly more expensive. It costed me ~$140 for 1GB of DDR2-800 RAM< but you dont need to buy ram that fast, something allong the lines of DDR2-667 will do, and it's much cheaper. I havent seen prices of AM2 motherboards, so i cant really say.

its easy to say that now that u have the computer, but think of the cost and the time you would have to donate. plus the X2 is an awesome processor
