When cloning, SSD not recognised

I have Windows 8 64-bit and a 500gb HDD. I want to add an internal 360gb SSD (OCZ Agility 3) for programs and games. I hooked up the SSD to the power supply, then plugged in the SATA cable. When I booted up to check and see if the drive was recognized, it wasn't. Is there a specific SATA port I need to use that I didn't? What could have gone wrong? Thanks so much.

Edit: It's all Sata 3.
The HDD is in port 4.
The DVD drive is in port 3.
The front IO panel is port 2.

You need to go to disk management and partition and format it before it will show up. You need to do it the other way around. Install windows on the SSD, install what ever else you want on it, then use the 500GB HD for storage.

I'm just about to clone, but I noticed that I have two partitions, C: and System Reserved. Can I clone the disk or should I clone the partitions individually? I'm using ******.

You really shouldn't clone to an SSD. You should do a fresh install to get the best performance. But you need to clone all of the original drive if you wish to have an exact duplicate of original.
