Is there a way to tell the date windows was installed?

FYI: My date was not set correctly during or after the install for a few days :]

The following command helps you to determine the installation date and time of a Windows XP/2003 computer. It is a command which extracts info from the parent command "systeminfo." Here is how you go about displaying the installation date: Go To Start --->Run ----> Type "cmd" and hit enter.
In the command line type systeminfo | find /i "install date." Please let us know how useful you find this tip by rating it below! If you have

The first thing comes up with Augest 23 2006, when obvoisly, I didn't install it then...I don't know how it came up with that.

And the second thing comes up with the same date. I dont know why its coming up with that, considing I didn't set the date at all, so if anything i figured it woudl be in the 2000's or something whatever hte mobo default was.

I have Windows XP x64 btw.

The only information found on determining the installation date regarding XP was that link there. Others refer to 2000 or back as far as 95. Nothing specific was found on the 64bit version even going through Microsoft's own search engine through all of that data base. Someone somewhere most likely has a method however.

I open up My Computer, and right-click the Windows folder, and check the date the folder was created. Works for me!

Will it work on Windows XP Pro 64bit is the big question here? Gee? I simply found June 30 2006 on mine for the new build.

Check your time and date setting in the bios! If that wasn't set correctly it could be forwarded on time and date there. You may as well go into the control panel settings and look those if you never set the time and date there.

It's all set now but It wasn't set correctly when I installedm As I already said.

That will throw off knowing the actuall installation date for sure. Unfortunately unlike the home edition there isn't much seen on the 64bit editions even when running some extended searches due to it being intended as a business geared not home user type OS. There is always an installation log file somewhere on the drive with any version of Windows after 3.1. Once you locate that you only need a way to open it.
