I am running this program called Avas virus protection, (because my Macafee is out of date), and when i am running it, at the end, or even during the process, it always comes up with the same file:

Ity says,

Adaware Was Found

Win32:adaware-gen [adw]

somethin like that, and i dont know if i should delete it or not?? because about 5 of them pop up every time i run it and it just put it in the "chest" of this virus scan program.

my comp has been acting really slow, so i am wondering what i should do with this file, delete it? or what,, i DO NOT want to mess up my comp :)

thanks,

Dustin

GET RID OF IT! is the simple way to remove a most likely trojan downloader. I think you are referring to running Avast there. A few other freeware programs like Ewido, AVG, AdAware SE Personal, Spybot Search+Destroy can remove a large variety of annoyances like this.

yea, i posted in another forum and they told me to post my log files or sumthin. here they are??

when i run virus scan, it shows i have a bunch od trojans, virus's named "win32" and then a bunch of adaware

heres my log file if you know what to do with it :)

or tell me what to do

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [kbdkaz] C:\WINDOWS\System32\kbdkaz.exe is a boggy! Try the fix option there. Often trojans will be found hidden on a drive without seeing anything in the system registry itself. What it does is create new startups where you think it's totally wiped with just removing a few entries. Running a few other good programs(some free of charge) like AdAware SE Pesonal, Ewido, AVG 7.1, Spybot Search+Destroy mentioned earlier also find locations on the drive itself as well as other entries not seen in a log report. Here's a few links to look over for these removers.
One great bug finder that will give you a location without always being able to remove something comes to mind here. AVG 7.1 Free edition antivirus that also spots trojans and scans incoming email. http://free.grisoft.com/doc/2/lng/us/tpl/v5
For Ewido an excellent freeware for spy blasting, http://free.grisoft.com/doc/ewido-anti-spyware-free/lng/us/tpl/v5

Lavasoft's AdAware SE Personal is a great tool for ad cookies, data miners, browser hijackers on occasion, even new registry entries, http://www.lavasoft.com
A mix of sharewares and freewares of various types of cleaners and removers as well as system tools can be looked over at these sites. http://www.majorgeeks.com/ http://www.tucows.com
For Spybot Search+Destroy, http://www.majorgeeks.com/SpyBot-Search_&_Destroy_d2471.html

The main drawback on HiJack This while being great for IE surprise addons and certain undesirable startups is locating something hidden on the drive that creates the startups without being detected since some of these don't make any registry entries to begin with. Recently even while AVG was disabled it still flagged a trojan downloader that was swiftly copied right onto to the root of C: when hitting a site during a web search. Since AVG can't always remove but points out locations and I know the total amount of files protected and otherwise that are supposed to be at the root of the hard drive the right click to the recycle bin saw that removed fast.

For added protection you can look into some free firewalls like Zone Alarm, Comodo, and a few others for prompting whenever something new on the system wants internet access. That's a typical trait of trojans right there.
