Well here is something you don't see everyday.
Ok so, I was fiddling with my brand new video card in the mail today
I got a asus HD 5450 silent video card. It was on sale too.
I thought this hasto be too good to be true!
So I payed for it online. I said why not. I can always mod it to have a cool fan
So I go ahead with my tests. To make sure it works.
Because you never know with online things now a days.
So anyways I'm fiddling I install the card/drivers. I over clock it then i
Notice one time when it was off, that there was a massive amount of heat coming from the heat sink. I thought yep! I'll be putting a small fan o. It soon enouph. Lo and behold. I put a fan on it. But now with the fan on there I can over clock that mother ****er to the max and she's still good to go.
But while I took the heat sink off to inspect it was still ok from not having the fan on it. I was lucky, the GPU on the card was still good. But when I took the video card out to inspect the GPU i put a fan of clear baby oil on the GPU
The GPU moved like a bunch of sharks towards a raw piece of meat. It was weird and cool to see with the human eye. But I heard that kind of oil is really good for computer chips and so forth. What's everyone's opinion?

What is with people buying fanless 5450s and modding fans onto them?

For the cost of the card and the extra fan you could have just bought a better card.

That seems to be a growing trend around here...

I was just trying to decipher the oil part.
