when installing 2 hard drives

do i want to set my raptor as the master and my seagate as slave .. also how do i do that.. i know u set jumpers on the hard drive but is there anything else i need to go ... also do both hard drives go on the same cable ?
 
if u dont have sata then yes u can use the same cable. unless ur sata has 2 connectors. i think u set them through ur bios primary HDD and secondary HDD

Because those two hard drives are SATA, theres no jumper to set them to slave, master, or CS.

It doesn't matter how you connect them, however to set a certain drive to be the primary drive you can either install it in the first SATA port (either 0 or 1), or manually set a drive to be the primary from within the BIOS.
 
nice.. i musta gotta a differnt kind of hard drive back when did my first build back in 2000 .... i had to set jumpers and such and then setting primary and slave was a pain ..

They were most likely IDE, as I don't believe SATA was standard back in 2000.
 
SATA is awesome. no need to mess with jumpers and cable position. just go into the bios to configure it.
