When you raid... can you still have a seperate ssd for your OS...and then setup the raid? or when you do a raid...you can only have the raid?

You can have stand alone drives such as an SSD in addition to a RAID. Some motherboards have certain SATA ports that don't support RAID, and some that do, so make sure you connect them to the correct ports.

i was going to buy a seperate raid card bc i wanted raid 6 my rampage 3 ex only does 5/10....

currently i have an SSD and an extra HD for storage. I'm going to do a raid 6 about 8TB worth of storage so i'm thinking 6-2tb harddrives.
