Whenever i target something in windows it clicks multiple times?

even tough i just click once. so using excel is impossible and it always tries to change the name of the folder which i click on, no matter if i use my mouse or click tab to get to it.

anyone have an idea?

i think it has something to do with overheating, not sure but it usually start after my computer has been on for a while and my computer is full of dust. not too long ago i had a problem with it turning off due to overheating but that is fixed.

i have tried changing mouses, still clicks multiple times. sometimes i hear the clicking noise repeat 20-30 times before stopping after i click once.

What operating system are you using?
Is this a laptop or desktop
Have you tried a different mouse?


If this were happening to me at work I would just guess this was the issue

I bet you just need to change that option.

i am using windows vista ultimate
this is a desktop
yes, sadly it seems that the mouse is not the issue here.

i have no problem with opening a file or folder, i just need to click outside the name changing box and it will enter instead of changing name. cant use excel tough. very annoying bug.

did you try hold alt when you click on File or Folder?

it doesn't do it then, but then i can't open it.
