i need a new powersupply for my dell so i can get a better videocard.

where can i get one for $80 or less

i went to pcpowercooling.com but they are to expensive for the powersupply i need.

i have a dell 4700

Can't you buy one from dell? I think dells have a lot of custom parts in there machines and you basically have to re-buy from them.

Could be wrong though, but Im sure I read somewhere on this board not too long ago that this is the case.

mine is 305 watts and i would like it to be over 400 watts like 450 to 480 or more just so i know i have enough power to power my system

AMD i have given u the link to the psu that i bought for my dell 4700 for the exact same reason and it worked fine. i had to upgrade to power my new graphics card and i bought the rosewill one and it worked absoultely fine, no problems at all. all u really need to do is make sure it has a 4-pin connector for the pci-e mobo and a 24-pin connector for the mobo. and when ur looking over the specs for the psu and it says a 20-pin connector, if there is a picture of it count the actual pins of the connector becauase that happened to me where it said only 20 pin and i counted the connectors and there were 24 and it came with 24 and it worked perfectly.

Well blimey! As of the intorduction of the 24-pin mainpower connector Dell appears to be using a standard connector (24pin ATX does differ slightly from the 20pin, of which Dell didn't use standard connectors), I take my no back, I don't think that antec true power 2 will be a problem.

so that powersupply i listed there will work with my dell

yes, the standard 24pin setup they use caught me off guard, to my knowledge none of their 20 pin boards match up

here is the link, no problem. now i will tell u now when installing one screw didnt fit in, all the other 3 did but there are like tracks in the psu spot of the dell that holds in better than the screws could. and be careful getting it in the case, its a tight space. but if u think it out first its very very easy

ps. forgot to say that if ur get it and install it u install it upside down so that the fan on top is actually facing into ur computer and works very very well like that
