Help!! All my files on my secondary internal harddrive are gone....is there anyway to get them back. First off let me explain what happened. Ok I have Windows XP on my cpu (Yes I know ancient), and have two harddrives in my computer. C being my main (Master) and D: being my secondary (Slave). One day a couple weeks back I left the computer on to download, well the power in the house went out which of course knocked the cpu off. Shortly after I returned home the power came back on so I turned on the cpu and noticed that it was saying D drive was corrupt and needed to perform a chk dsk so I let it. When I got in the system everything was working find and I had everything in my C drive but my D drive was missing files and pictures. I decided to do a System Restore through windows to a few days prior but after doing that and restarting ALL the files on the D drive were gone and Firefox would not open. Internet Explorer also would not start up. It kept saying that I didnt have a connectionk, so through advice of AT&T who I had come out because I figure something was wrong with the connection, he said to have someone put setup for Explorer and Firefox on a flash drive which I did and now that is working fine. I am still missing all my files on the D drive however. In my computer it shows that the drive is still there. The amount of space used and what is left, but when I click to view the folders there is nothing. I tried to do a check disk and repair on the drive through windows and it always stops at Phase 2 saying that it could not complete. Is there anyway to get my pics back or is this hard drive just gone and I have lost everything?

First off stop trying to access the drive. What brand of hard drive is it? Once we know we can tell you what utility to run to check the drive for errors. Power outages can cause hard drives to die prematurely.
