Where did my volume indicator go?

Hi, I have been having a few problems with my laptop (Gateway NV79) recently. One of them is that my volume indicator no longer pops up when I turn the volume up and down with the "touch-bar" (for lack of a better term). What could be the problem? I have rebooted several times and it has been doing this for days. Also, on a somewhat unrelated note, my mute button on my "touch-bar" no longer lights up (but still mutes my computer). What could this be? And as long as I'm asking questions, my computer says "this version of windows is not genuine". I have run some program that someone on a forum said to run to get rid of it, and that got rid of the "Build 7600" part but not all of it. Winows 7 came with my laptop so it is genuine, what do I do?

Any help on any of these problems would be very very much appreciated!

Thanks!

Have you scanned your system for infections lately with malwarebytes Antimalware? Certain infections play with the genuine notification, even though I haven't seen one in quite some time.
