here is how i came to this problem
today when i opened a html file comuter gave me msg:
"cudn't find the specified program. please specify the location of the program : internet explorer". oops! obviously iexplorer is the default browser for viewing html files. then where has iexplorer gone?
to search this i opened program files in c drive. there i opened the folder name 'internet explorer" but .......there was nothing. i came to the desktop and double clicked on the 'e' icon. internet explorer was running fine. so i checked it's properties.......... i found it's target was C:\found.000\dir0001.chk\iexplore.exe so again i opened the c drive but widows explorer was not showing this folder (found.000)so i opened DOS and i found it's attributes were system, hidden.
i forget to tell u, i ran scandisk today. it also found some bad area on the hard disk and also repaired it. the problem may be due to that?
is this a work of a virus. or my operating system (windows xp) only?
