Just where is CMOS located and how can it be reset? I installed a gift memory upgrade but it turned out to be a mismatch. Now the computer will not turn on, it tries but just recycles at 10 second intervals.
Remove the power cable from the PSU. Open the side panel and remove the CMOS battery. Hold down the power button for 10 seconds. Replace the battery and plug the computer back in. It will reset the CMOS back to default.
^If the battery is locked in or really difficult to remove, you can short the CMOS by bridging the connection between the two probes on the top right of the red circle in the picture above.
