Where is memory

Hello i'm wondering if there is a way to check where all the memory is. Like i have an 80gb laptop, and my programs don't even use up 10 gigs of space, and i have less than 10 gigs of music, i'm kind of confused right now while it says i only have 3 gigs left. I was just wondering if there was maybe a program out there that shows you where all your memory is. Thanks

lol. go to start, all programs, accesory, system tools, disk clean up. and check most/ all of it. that should give you a lot of room back. also if hat does not help i just go to explorer and right click the files and look for the one that has a lot of data nd just trace it.

first off memory and hard drive space are two different things.... so memory is RAM and hard drive space is what you're talking about... try a clean up... windows takes up space also

CCleaner is a really good program. I use it among with a few other free programs.

Also you have to remember that just because its labeled 80Gb it dosent mean it is. For example you install a drive labeled at 160GB and if you look in windows at how much total space it has its around 149. It comes down to the discrepancy between how big a gig is. When their making the hard drives they say that 1000Kb = 1Gb yet in windows it registers it as 1024Kb = 1GB which is the actual ratio. Essentially its a way for hard drive makers to make you think your getting more.

Why if we keep this up, everyones going to have a copy of Ccleaner! Op. recommend this to you're friends. Also tell them to turn off the windows Firewall and replace with a free copy of Zonealarm or Comodo. That's an order. :D
