currently i have 4x 2gb kingstom 1333mhz ddr3 RAM
im wanting to upgrade because my MOBO now supports 32gb in total :)
i was looking into buying 4x 8gb ram :)

Any help is appreciated :)

What do you use your system for that you think you need 32 gb of.memory? 8 gb is more than enough for most people.

Yeah 1600MHz would be nice but I've only seen 1333MHz 8GB DIMMs at the moment, or at least from G.Skill.

1600mhz will be fine, but if you wanna go to 1866mhz then that would be great. going much over this, you really see no performance gains, less you get low timings like cas 8, but it will be pretty expensive. to be honost, i think this ram is good. a bit on the high side, but worth it i think....

you can get 4x4gig sticks of the same ram for $10 cheaper. 1866mhz, cherry picked IC's, and cas 9. you can get similar ram (size and speed) for cheaper than these, but i think these look rreally nice. they have a chrome/aluminum rail on it, which has white led's under it that light up when your pc turns on. if your looking for something cheaper, then maybe these?....

i bought these...cas 8 1600mhz...love em. run great....

hope thos helps you decide

it really depends on what your doing with your pc. for me, i seen the difference as soon as i ran my projects through adobe. made a pretty good difference actualy. for gaming though, no difference noticed there.

i will be doing a fair bit of gaming :P
here's possibly a nooby question :P
but while running fraps and playing your games at the same time, dose it require more ram, or is it the processor that the programs run of?
or is it both?

Fraps doesn't require much ram, the cpu will do the main part.
1333mhz should be fine, it's only a bit slower sometimes.

32GB is a waste of money. No matter what your doing. Even 16GB is way overkill. Even my 12GB is overkill. By the time there is any combination of programs that will make use of more than 12GB of RAM, DDR3 and the i7 will be obsolete.

I have opened every program on my computer at once, and still had more than 2GB of RAM available.
