Where to buy a cheap SSD?

Now that I've decided to add an SSD to my new build, the next question is where should I buy it. i can't seem to find a decent 128GB SSD for less than $100.

I'm in the US, no microcenter near me.

Thanks! Wow, so I guess these are just the prices. That sort of sucks, but I guess it is what it is. Do these bad boys ever go on sale, or are they pretty much stuck around those prices?

Here's probably a dumb question. I'm building my computer with the Intel Core i3-3225 Ivy Bridge. Am I better off spending the extra hundred on an SSD, or by upgrading to the Intel Core i5-3570K Ivy Bridge and using my old 500 GB HDD.

The machine will be for multitasking word, itunes, web, Photoshop, windows movie maker, and netflix/youtube. No gaming.

That would have been good. Too bad its out of stock but NE frequently restocks in hrs or a day or 2 and a lot of time before the promo is over.

As for OCZ the 4 series are good and much more reliable than the 3 series.

Huh...that's weird, it says in stock on my end... I better pull the trigger on it before it really is gone.

EDIT: snagged one before they're gone.

Would not buy anything from OCZ. Losing so much money, will probably go bankrupt. The company is so screwed up that it bought out a name like PC Power&Cooling and just about ran them in the ground in two years buy swapping the manufactures that made them. Finally fixed it but to late, buy the time they did the name wasnt the top anymore. Just like everything thing else they try to sell.

I hear ya. I went for that Kingston HyperX 3K SH103S3/120G for $69. I'm glad I did, because it's out of stock now. Hopefully that will be a good one.

I see Kingston HyperX 3K listed for $69 at Gadgetar. If you still into market for SSD i would jump on it.

Thanks man! I already picked it up for that price when newegg had it. It's pretty crazy, but I ordered that on Monday, then I ordered all of my other components on Tuesday (all from Newegg).

Well, everything I ordered on Tuesday arrived yesterday, and that damn SSD still hasn't gotten here.

hehe. That's an easy last install if thats what you decide. But you'll prolly have it any time now.

What was your final build list?

Rosewill CHALLENGER Black Gaming ATX Mid Tower
Intel Core i3-3225 Ivy Bridge 3.3GHz
MSI Z77A-G43
CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB)
LG DVD Burner Model GH24NS90 - OEM
Kingston HyperX 3K SH103S3/120G
Antec VP-450 450W
500GB WD HDD (from old computer)

I was going to get the G45 motherboard, but the deal they had with the free memory ended, so I downgraded back to the G43. And I had to get a new DVD reader because my old one is IDE.

The build came to $445 before rebates, assuming all goes well with my Win7 disk.

I spent the better part of today making backups, downloading drivers, and refreshing my memory of how to build (watching the newegg build video) since it's been a year.

I'm building tomorrow and hoping the SSD arrives so I can complete it all, otherwise I'll build the bulk and wait for the SSD.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around whether or not to do the dual boot, and how to go about partitioning and everything. Otherwise, should be a fairly straight forward build...knock on wood.
