Where to buy Windows 7?

Hi all,

I am planning to build an additional PC for a family member who wants to stay away from Windows 8. However, I am finding it difficult to purchase a copy of Windows 7 these days, any copies I find are either too expensive (for the full DVD version...£170!!) or OEM versions from sites I have never heard of.

Is it still possible to buy from Microsoft directly?

I have a physical copy of Win 7 64 bit full version that I bought about 3 years ago, so I don't actually need another DVD copy. Is it possible (and legal) to install this copy on another machine, then buy a license key for it from Microsoft or somewhere?

if your copy of windows 7 isnt installed on another computer you can install and activate it with your key,unless you are hanging on to it to use yourself.other than that follow johns link.
 
Thanks for the responses and suggestions. I bought the version suggested as I am currently using my copy.
