In the past Dell always had a computer (through the years I have bought 5, desktops and laptops, from them) that, with options I could choose, did the trick for me. However, their current offerings don't seem to offer me a desired setup.
My last two desktops used RAID-0 as I work with some large photo and illustration projects. I was tinkering with the idea of using RAID-5 with my next desktop. Also, I have been using a separate HD for a scratch disc (Photoshop). Would using SSDs negate the use of RAID and the scratch disc? Even using SSDs would it be a good idea to place the OS on a separate disc (a SSD of course)?
Being hearing impaired I don't need or would make use of a high-end sound card, something-for example-that tends to be included with a high-end video card setup. I do want a really good video card for my work but I don't do games. I use dual monitors (extended desktop).
I currently use (with Vista) 18GB DDR-3 RAM. More than one really needs?
I guess I would like suggestions where I could have such a PC built. Ideas?
