So far I have the following items purchased for my gaming computer.

24" Samsung 245BW for $390 ($440)

Thermaltake Armor Series ATX Full Tower Case $70 ($102)

PC Power & Cooling's Silencer 750W Power Supply $145 ($171)

Now I'm stuck with all the hard decisions, mother board, memory, processor, etc. The only thing I'm pretty sure on is the video card, BFG 8800GT, other than that I'm open to suggestions on all other components for some guidance.
I'm hoping the Kentsfield 6600 or 6700 CPU comes down to reasoable price as that's what I had semi planned to use.
I'll be waiting it out till Christmas or after Christmas too to rack up on all the sale items, so no imidiate rush.

Now I'm thinking of going with the E8500 CPU. Would that be better overclocked vs a Q6600?
Still get the GT8800.

I think the E8500 can be overclocked further than the Q6600. Regardless, I would get a new 45nm core CPU. Are you running dual video cards or not? If two, 680i or 780i(if you can afford)chipset motherboard, if not I would go with a P35 motherboard.
Ram, get 2 to 4 gigs of OCZ or Corsair
Get whatever hard drive, whatever DVD burner drive.
