is that what it's called?? hope so.. anyway, I bought an open box motherboard and it ended up not having one and since it is an older board I'm not sure if the manufacturer will have one they can ship me.. I sent them an email and assume I'll get a reply on Wednesday but I'm guessing I'll prolly be on my own on this one. Is there somewhere that sells em and has pictures so I can choose the right one?? I tried to google search it but I'm not sure if I am calling it the right thing cause the only replies I get is like sound card stuff. The motherboard is in an old desktop which only has one 80mm fan, all onboard stuff and just a heatsink for the chipset, no fan. With that one case fan and the stock cpu fan(from an Athlon XP 1700+) doing all the cooling, I'm not sure if that part of the case being open hurts the airflow..

I know the computer sucks but it serves its purpose.. it's not my primary PC

it's actually an asrock board.. asus makes asrock I think so I sent him a message and hoping for the best

You dont need the shield... all it does is asthetic really.

Just pop the current one out.

personally i wanted the shield so that there was definately not another route into my system for dust etc...might only be a small space but the stuff seems to find its way in anywhere

well that ebay seller replied.. guess he wont start carrying asrock plates for about a month.. for the time being it's just asus

I do want a cover on it though because all the computer does is sit in a dusty closet for a year or so at a time before ever being touched. The computer is a Linux box that hosts my websites, files etc.. The dust is a factor but the main factor in me really wanting it is it might affect the cooling, I mean I don't overclock it or ever even really make it work.. but it'll gimme that piece of mind. I'm not in like a HUGE rush to get it, I mean the computer is working fine without it.. guess it's just like a pet peeve or somethin.. maybe I'm just weird.. I hope asrock has one, I mean it can't cost but $10 shipped tops.. the motherboard brand new costs $40 and it comes with a plate and all the cables, so.. It definately isn't a spendy part

thanks for the replies.. ASRock does actually have the plate still, it's only costing me $5 shipped.. it's worth it to me
