There is only 10 bucks difference, think about it for a second. One is a AM2+, more or less a dead in road. The other is a AM3 that will run on AM2+ and AM3 boards, you can still upgrade your board and memory in the future.

For the money, the only other one would be in your first post, the 945/ but the 95W one for 169 bucks. Plus its still a AM3. A little more detailed in overclocking with a locked X. But if you can go 30 more bucks the 955.

I'm gonna get the 955. I've watched gameplay videos with the 955, and they seem uninterrupted. (Even though that has a lot to do with the GPU)

The 955 will also probably overclock better than a 940

I wouldnt doubt it, espeically with the newer chips they seem to be getting better yields and chips that OC better.
