Which card should I choose

I was wondering which card would be better for an upcomming build I am putting togather a 560TI or go a little older and get a 480? I know the 480 is 2 generations old but its cheeper right now that a 560TI. How much better if any will the 480 be over the 560TI. I know the 480 uses a LOT more energy than the 560 and the 480 runs hotter but does the preformance outweigh that downside. Here is a link to the two diffrent cards.

480 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130759

560TI 448 cores - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130738

560TI 384 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130604

I would go for the 560ti if you can afford it. The 480 barely outperforms the normal ti and the 448 would wipe the floor with it I think.

Go for the 560 Ti 448, it's not much more expensive than a 560 Ti but it outperforms it. The GTX 480 is several generations old now, don't even think about that now, power hungry and runs hot. If you can't afford a 448, get the regular 560 Ti, but if you afford it, a GTX 570 would also be a good choice.

the 480 is right on par in performance with the gtx 570, give or take ......plus id the cheapest as its on sale for $210 on newegg right now.

the 480 will outperform the 560 line up. plus the 480 has 512mb more vram than the 560 cards. sure its a bit older, a bit louder, and a little hotter, which non of these things conflict with its perfomance. since its $100 cheaper than the 570, and at least $60 cheaper than the 560ti, than id say the 480 is a good option. if anybody says that the 560 will wipe the 480 all over the floor, id like to see some benchmarks that express that.

Thats incorrect, 480 is about the same as a 570 in performance.

The 480 is one of the best bang for the bucks out there right now, if you can deal with the heat and power consumption. Raw performance crushes anything is the same price range.

With that said, I would honestly try and find a used gtx 570. They go for $250 or less, and easily beats the 7850.

Here's a classified 570 for $250 buy it now with a best offer option-

Could probably get it atleast down to $240, and have a nice classified edition which has a nice factory overclock on it. It's also new enough that it probably uses EVGA's new warranty system, which is serial number based for 3 years no longer need to register or be original owner.
