Which cpu and motherboard..... PLEASE HELP

Hi peeps

I,m about to build a new comp for my family and me as the one we already have is a bit old :( . I,m looking to get he very best performance for money, so I am really interested in overclocking :D . I,ve a budget of about £180 for a new cpu and motherboard but I really can,t decide what to get, I thought the pentium 805 looked good value for a dual core cpu and I think they can overclock a fair bit. Basicly I looking for the best possible performance (with overclocking) for about £180. Can anyone rise to the challenge?

I,m also willing to giv athlon 64s a go as I hear you can get some very good overclocks on the cheaper ones, such as the 3200+. Also looking for a motherboard with good features, overclocking and that is future proof.

My family will use the comp for surfin the net, E-mails and storing/printing photos, wheras I itend to use the comp for photoshop and a bit of video editing. I guess the pentium 4 fits the bill better than the athlons in these areas.

Any help is much appriciated :) .

I would say go for a pentium in a family computer, unless you like gaming. I don't know how good they are at overclocking though.
 
Don,t really plan to do much gaming on it, lots of multi-media stuff like mp3 encoding, video editing and basic stuff like office apps and internet. Thanks for reply :D
 
you can't, one of the mods or admins will either close it, delete it, or hope everyone else is intelligent enough to find your other post
