Which CPU has more power?

So I am looking at getting a new computer and I am looking at a ultra book, with what I currently do my i3 handles it but it is definitely is very taxing so my current cpu is is listed in my signature and I could not find any more information on it other then it has 3MB Cache.

The Ultra Book I am looking at has a 3rd Generation Intel® Core™ i7-3537U processor (4M Cache, up to 3.1 GHz) and I know it is a i7 but from what I have read the cpu in Ultra Books uses less power so I was wondering would this give a little bit more performance over over my current i3?

Yes it will, the i7 will be faster in multi and singlethreaded.
What are you using this for? Because it has only got 2 cores and 4 threads, so rendering and stuff like that will not be something to do with your i7...

Honestly not to much, I don't really PC game much and when I do they are older games like half life, warezone 2100 which my current laptop has handled with no problems. Mainly when I noticed my PC kicking into high gear is when I use openshot a video editor and I am exporting a video to 1080p 50 fps, or when I do have problems is when I have the Blender option in it render a animated scene for the videos my i3 won't even finish it but I am sure that is more due to the intel HD 3000 GPU right?

No it's a task of the cpu, but I can't be sure of the improvement if you don't give me the right name of the i3...
