Which CPU is BETTER?

The one that seems faster is cheaper!!!

Which is better???

AMD Phenom 9600 Agena 2.3GHz Quad-Core

VS.

AMD Phenom 8750 Toliman 2.4GHz Triple-Core

Quad-Core Processors have more processing power than Triple-Core Processors.

My own opinion of the Phenom Quad-Cores is the following: if the model number of the Phenom doesn't have the last two digits ending in "50" they should be avoided. The first Phenom Quad-Cores released had bugs that Advanced Micro Devices needed to fix. If the Phenom processor ends in 50 the processor was a later generation released that had no issues. This is the information I read but someone else may need to verify it. Are all the Phenom Quad-Core Processors fixed or should some models be avoided?

In my opinion I say the Phenom 8750 processor is better than the Phenom 9600 processor.

Edit: If the Phenom processor model number has a "50" or a "B" at the end of it I would trust it. For example NewEgg has an AMD Phenom 9600B processor listed. This processor is later generation. (However the price on the Phenom 9600B is currently too high at $165.)

Is it by much? How do the smaller numbers turn out to be better?

Can anyone help me understand this?!

THANK YOU!!!!

A Quad-Core processor contains four individual processors inside the same housing. A Tri-Core processor contains three individual processors inside the same housing. A Quad-Core processor therefore has more processing power than a Tri-Core because there are more processors in the chip.

Clock speed is the speed or frequency a processor runs at. If a processor runs at a clock speed of 2.3 gigahertz (abbreviated as "GHz") it goes through 2.3 billion cycles in one second. As long as a processor runs at around 2.2 gigahertz I wouldn't worry about clock speed. What is more important is the number of processors with a multi-core processor.
