Which CPU is better?

Speed matters not. Cache is only helpful when doing repetitive things ;)

The C2d is a newer chip utilizing a better architecture among other things, it's like comparing a normal car to a futuristic flying car and saying the normal car is better because it has more horsepower. Who says the futuristic flying car needs all that horsepower to kick the crap out of the normal wheeled car?

Pretty good explanation, but I would have said comparing it to a futuristic car with say a 1.5L engine vs a 1960's car which had a 6.0L engine. Where the bigger displacement doesnt mean faster performance.

As for the topic starter, definitely the second one. Because the first one is a bit old, and doesn't contain the newest technologies. And I think the results are better of the second one vs the first one.

I didn't want to confuse anybody.. Or myself, hehe.

Anyways my overactive imagination doesn't allow for such a mundane explanation; It's gotta have dinosaurs or aliens or some weird crap like that. :)
