Which Do You Think Is Better For My Tastes?

Hi guys,

Being a avid, hardcore gaming person, since the ripe age of 4, you can say I've been around the block a few times. I have owned (and still own most) a lot of consoles, more specifically the Nintendo 64, Nintendo Gamecube, Super Nintendo Entertainment System, Nintendo Wii, Nintendo Game Boy Advance, Nintendo Game Boy DS, PlayStation 1, PlayStation 2, Microsoft Xbox and the Microsoft Xbox 360. Now personally, I advocated the Xbox 360 tremendously over the PlayStation 3 in the 7th generation of gaming consoles, due to factual bases, as well as a load of personal preferences. With the launch releases of both of the power players in the 8th generation of gaming, I have never been more stuck in a loop with a technology decision in my life.

I love my Xbox 360 immensely, and as much as I love playing PC games as well, I started on a console and for me, that is where I love to do the majority of my gaming. Being a Computer Engineering student in college, I try my best to know as much as possible about technology in general, and can understand it down to very basic levels, and therefore, I thought I could make an easy decision between a PlayStation 4 and a Xbox One, however, I was wrong.

With the release and information and reviews all over the interwebs regarding both companies consoles, I'm so torn between the two it isn't funny. I absolutely loved the Xbox 360, and thought the PlayStation 3 was alright. And I really don't want to be without the things I achieved on the Xbox 360, that would obviously only transfer over to a Xbox One. However, knowing what I know about technology, the PlayStation 4 is legitimately more graphically powerful, and I certainly acknowledge that fact, but I'm really struggling to decide between the two. If I had the money, I'd get both, but unfortunately I don't.

Basically, what I'm asking of you guys is to try to see if you can come up with what you think would be better for me. Please no fan-boy remarks (from either side). If anyone has any suggestions to help me decide, that would be greatly appreciated, and I can answer any questions to help you, help me. Thanks in advance friends.

TBH, this is what I think. If you need it now, get the XB1 as it has better launch titles. If you can wait, the PS4. $100 cheaper, no supporting M$ who tried to pull the DRM crap, and is arguably much sexier.

PC vs Console flame war warning.

If I were to pick a new console I would wait at the very least a few months and see how each of them is being received by the public. I know both have been having their share of hardware problems. Let it sit itself and see what's going on with both then make your decision.

This is exactly why I love using this forum. For the most part, no flaming fan boys crowding the breathing space of typical human intelligence. I won't be getting anything until Christmas at the utmost earliest, regardless of choice anyway. I still appreciate the help immensely though.

Oh and the reason I didn't post anything in the thread mentioned above is because of what Denther had to say, I could tell within the first 2 pages of the threat that it was heading down that path quickly.
