Which driver to I dl for nvidia geforce 5200?

So many? There's basically one driver that covers the original geforce up to the 7000 series...

btw, there is now a "nvidia settings" quick icon, should I leave it active at all times? or can I just close it

In the task bar? Personal preference. I just close mine and/or disable it in the menus.

It isn't needed and if you find your not using it then you should disable it.
