Which g skill memory should I purchase for $150 or less. I am going to purchase the Asus maximus iv ROG motherboard. Memory Standard: DDR3 2200(O.C.)/2133(O.C.)/1866(O.C.)/ 1600/1333 (Due to CPU behavior, DDR3 2200/2000/1800 MHz memory module will run at DDR3 2133/1866/1600 MHz frequency as default.). Which G-Skill memory should I purchase for $150 or less. Minimum 2 modules at 4gigabyte each. I already have purchased the noctua NH D-14 Cooler so the ram must be compatible. So, Ripjaws, Ripjaws X series, and Sniper series are compatible according to noctua. I was considering G Skill because of reviews. Is there another Manufacturer that I should consider? Here is one of the ram models g skill suggested G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL7D-8GBRH
http://www.noctua.at/main.php?show [...] 3_G.Skill.
Note: I do plan on pushing the cpu to reach it's limit. Hopefully at at least 5.0 GHZ
Thanks The Noob .
P.S. the asus motherboard i've selected is also compatible with the Noctua Air Cooler.

Your link is broken.

I really haven't had any trouble with any major RAM manufacturer. Not to say it doesn't happen but the biggest problem I had was some tempermental OCZ RAM which I just had to give a bit more voltage.

If the you like the RAM you are looking at and feel the price is reasonable then go for it. It sounds like you've done your research and have more or less decided what you want anyway.

Its a tose up between 1600 and 1866 with really good voltage and timing. The price of 2133 is not worth it.

I've seen this set - $119 RipjawsX ] F3-17000CL9D-8GBXM
CAS Latency 9-11-10-28-2N
Test Voltage 1.65 Volts
Speed DDR3-2133 (PC3 17000)
What do you think? Is this going to be faster? It is 17000. Is the voltage too high?
Thanks the noob.

Here are the specs of the ram you speak of from newegg.
I see the Cas Latency8Timing8-8-8-24 is smaller timings. This is good? I understand having the lower 1.5 voltage is better too. Then is it good to tighten the timings And to what?
Thanks the noob.
