Mac, both ways. Mac notebooks are some of the best, if not the best. Just load windows on the mac, and play GTA whenever you want.

Cool, thanks for your reply.

Performance wise, will a Mac beat a higher spec PC?
Because I notice there are different things in Macs.

Did you look at the links?

The Mac has integrated video, as well as the Acer, so neither will play GTA very well at all. Second, the Acer is about half the price of the Mac, and also has decent components. Not to mention if he bought the Mac, he would also need an additional $100 for XP.

I would go with the Acer.

The Mac is only 150% of the price of the Acer. I think it is worth it, but it is totally up to him.

It depends on the integrated graphics on the Mac. It is really close, you probably couldn't tell the difference. However, if you are using CPU intensive tasks, the Mac would be better because of the Intel Core processor

I believe the Mac was around $880 (not in USD), and the Acer is $425. So the Acer is actually more than half the price.

Which would give me a better performance for graphics etc? Because I'm using it for work.
The CPU on the Mac is better, but again, it depends on the overall specs. The Acer has ATI integrated, so it does perform a bit better then say, Intel integrated.

The Acer is 499, compared to the mac being $880, so the Mac is 176% more than the Acer. It all comes down to if you want to pay the extra or not.

If neither are going to play GTA significantly better than the other, I'd go with whatever is cheaper. Plus, it was mentioned, buying XP is another $70-100 into the Mac price. So make that ~$980.

The Mac has a better processor, the Acer is cheaper. But my guess is that Acer system will be plenty for your work needs. I'd save a couple hundred bucks.

the mac has alot of great software which makes it a better buy IF YOU ARE GOING TO USE THE SOFTWARE. if you are just going to be using it for everyday stuff, save your money. photoshop doesn't run native on an intel mac yet anyway. i dunno if the performance drop is noticable or not. stick with pc.
