Which GPU is best?

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560M GPU with 1.5GB GDDR5 Video Memory

or the

2GB GDDR3 Nvidia GeForce GT 555M GPU with Optimus Technology / Embedded Intel HD Graphics

I can get both of these in a VERY sweet Sager notebook but I would like to know which is best. The GT 555M has 2GB but the GTX 560M is GDDR5 which I assume is better...

Ok. So far, pretty much everyone has recommended the GTX (I have this same thing posted on a few different forums). But will there be a real noticeble difference between the 2GB and 1.5GB?

I don't know too much about GPU's really. I figured VRAM was just like regular RAM in that the more GB you have, the better it runs. (Although thinking about it now, I guess it is similar to the difference between DDR3 and DDR3 RAM...)

But yeah, what exactly are the differences?

Video memory affects how much anti-aliasing and how good textures you can use. 1GB is common and standard, 1.5GB, 2GB and 3GB cards can also be found. For anything up to 1920x1080, 1.5GB is perfect. You won't need more, and more won't affect performance.

Having more only helps when you need more, other wise there is no gain. The GPU chip itself does all the important processing.

I have 8GB of RAM in my computer. I haven't noticed any direct speed improvement, however I run virtual machines for my studies (assignments, really) so it helps to have enough memory to stop stuttering. The only time I've saturated all 8GB is while stability testing.
