which HDD to get

im finally considering switiching out my 120GB ATA133 Maxtor and my 120GB ATA100 Seagate drives for one 320GB SATAII drive

Western Digital. I've had horrible luck with Maxtor in the past and try to stay away from them. I only use Segates and WD's anymore. Though...didn't segate buy Maxtor, or something like that?

Yes Seagate bought Maxtor because they had/have better perpendicular manufacturering ability and to boost their revenue.
