Which is a easier system to run?

Well, I currently have XP installed on this spare system I am using since my main rig is out of commission as of this time. But I really love Windows 7 and I am wondering if it is easier to run than XP. Meaning less system requirements.

Sorry, figured out my own question. Well, does anyone think my computer could run the 32 bit even though I only have half the ram specifications.

Would need to know what specs you are running at the moment to give you an idea.

what are your backup system's specs? i have a laptop that runs xp just fine but lags like crazy with vista and 7. i know the ram requirements are for sure different and i am assuming the cpu requirements follow suit.

XP is old out dated technology, you may as well push over into windows 7, or explore the possibilities of running Linux or getting a Mac.

The PC has like a Pentium 4 at like 2.something ghz, 510mb of ram, and the video card is running Direct X 9 so everything is ok except the ram. Also, It's not like I'm going to be on this system for a year Tlarkin, I'm using this while my comp (in my sig) is being repaired and that has Home Premium 64Bit.

Well, I am just saying that in my opinion, once a PC can't run the current version of Windows in my house, it runs the current version of Linux instead. I just like up to date OSes and have them run snappy is all.

using xp really sucks but i doubt your pc will be able to handle 7, at least not smoothly. you could always install it and try it of course and then just change to xp if you don't like it ;) just use a windows 7 style theme if you don't like the look.

It's not really the look, it's more of the fact as I liked how I could slide stuff to the left and right and have it snap screens. and the search option.

You're going to need at least 1gb of ram just to run windows 7 smoothly. I'm nearly using 1gb of ram just with firefox and itunes open.

Windows 7 really is great operating system, but Windows XP is still my favorite.Too bad it's already 9 years old lol...But you have to admit one thing.Windows XP is the ONLY operating system that was used for so long time and it still is lol.I am just afraid that many programs in the future won't support Windows XP.

...d*** XP...

Stop saying that lol.XP must not die xD

personally, I have an xp based laptop, have used Vista, and run 7. Personally, I like the xp system, though i does have its flaws. Now, IMO, vista just plain sucked. 7 has its advantages, and generally runs good. But, i still wouldn't trade windows 7 for xp on my laptop.
I guess what it boils down to is personal prefrance vs. performance, and support.
