which is better intel p4 or intel celeron D

P4 :) i would immagine.

but why would you want to buy either of them?

they are outdated.

Well at the budget building one won't do you much good anyways. Do have a look into emachines, they make half decent minimal budget PC's. I bought one with Celeron D with 512mb ram PC for $200 like 2 years ago.
 
Do you mind using refurbished product?
Try dell outlet, they have some pretty ok machine for $200-300.

P4. $160 could get an E2140 and an cheap mobo... maybe an older ATi GFX too. Just use your orig case, PSU, opticals, and HDD.

Celerons are budget processors so obviusly they are not going to be great but are fine for the usual stuff like word processing,Email etc.
 
im looking at a gateway like brand new wit a 2.4 ghz duel core wit 2gb ram,and 200 gb hdd for $400.00 i might buy it do u guys think its a lot o and plus it has windows vista

The Pentium 4 would be much better then the Celeron D, if the clock speeds arent that different. Of course the best processor would be an Intel Dual-Core or Core 2 Duo.
