HP, Macs are mostly for graphic design and what not. But if you really want to do graphic design, you'd get something better like an iMac or a G4.

But isnt OSX a far superior operating system to windows? And wont vista make the hp run a lot slower than the mac will? Add to this the fact you wont pick up any virus's on the mac and surely that is the better option?

Yeah, but depends if you like it, you get very little viruses on a mac.

if you aren't a total idiot you won't pick up any viruses in windows to. the operating system you need all depends on your needs and your likes.

I'm biased, but I would choose the MacBook. The card in the MacBook uses part of your system memory and that's not a big deal if you aren't doing complex things like 3D Rendering or gaming.

Macs are computers and can be used for anything. I use my macbook pro to administer windows servers, and I don't run windows on my macbook pro.

To say it is only good for graphic design is just plain wrong
