Hi, im building a new computer soon, and i was wondering how it would match up to my current one?

My current computer is an XPS 600:
2GB DDR2 RAM
Pentium 4 650 Processor
2 Nvidia 6 series 6800 GPU's (SLI)
NVIDIA nForce4 SLI 16 MCP
250GB SATA HD

The one I'm building is:
4GB DDR2 800 RAM
AMD Phenom X3 Triple-Core Processor 8650
320GB SATA2 HD
ASUS M3N78 Motherboard (using built in audio/video)

also, how would the graphics be compared to the SLI in my XPS? and is there any single GPU better than the dual 6800's?

the new one will totally kill your old one/:D but if you havnt got the stuff for the new one yet..let us put a nice list together for you just give us a budget...:D

yes most single cards will beat 2x 6800 sli these days. Take a look at tomshardware.com. How much u got 2 spend?

okay, well for budget its really low, 600 at the most right now, i can get all this stuff for $555.00 Canadian though:

Asus M3N78 motherboard
AMD Phenom X3 Triple-Core Processor 8650
4GB STT DDR2-800
22X SATA Lightscribe DVD+/-RW Internal Drive
320GB SATA2 7200rpm 16MB Hard Drive
ATX Mid tower W/480W Power supply

for a GPU im just lookng to get an idea for down the road what would be better then the 6800's on SLI, and for price maybe up to $250.00

is there any better set up then what i have for around the same price?

How about this

Asus M4N78 Pro 115.73

OCZ OCZ2G8008GQ 8 GB (4 x 2 GB) DDR2 800MHz Gold Series Memory Kit$103.99

AMD Phenom X4 9950 Black Edition. 125W Power, Socket AM2+, 4MB Cache, 2600 MHz $149.99

Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD5000AAKS Hard Drive - 500GB - 7200rpm - SATAII - Internal $67.79

XFX GeForce 8800 GT Video Card - Alpha Dog Edition, 512MB DDR3, PCI Express 2.0, SLI Ready, (Dual Link) Dual DVI, HDTV, HDCP $84.99

total 522.49

Just spend the rest on the cheapest case as possible (parts inside more important) and a dvd drive.

it sounds like a good setup, but a bit out of my price range, it'd cost me around 820.30 Canadian for the stuff you mentioned :(
the one i want to build is only just low priced temporary one, just to replace my old one for now till i build an even better one later on, and thanks for all the help so far :D
