Which Is The Better Board?

hard to say, the first one looks like it can support more SATA drives, but the 2nd has 2x PCI-E slots. If you plan on using more then 2 SATA drives, then i would recommend, but for playing lots of games, i would choose the 2nd one.

im only going to have one sata hard drive on it, maximum two i suppose. Its sole purpose will be for playing games. Is there anything else you can find on there and will it fit in the NZXT Nemesis case geoff?

oh and the 2 pci-e cards have to be the same make and model dont they?
was thinking of probably getting one and then another one later.

thanks archangel. can you find anything wrong with the second board?
and will it fit into the nzxt nemesis case?

oh man, when will i have a sli mobo...............................................................................................................................................................................5 years

Check out which Asus sli board you are inquiring about as there operational problems with some of the Asus brds as reported in several reviews of Asus sli boards.
Check out the MSI and the really good DFI boards.

dont forget the Albatron. it only has 4 onboad usb2 ports, and only 1 onboard gigabit LAN port. but this makes him ceaper as the dfi, msi and asus while its just as fast. and when you start OCíng with the albaton, its even gaining on the others :D

Yes true but to max out the performance of the system you'll need to use something like the DDR Booster cuz Vdimm only goes to 3.0v (same for my pref, the MSI)

Asus A7n8x

Are there any known issues with the ASUS A7N8X Deluxe? I have one of these boards and I am fed up with it freezing up on me then shutting down and not starting back up again properly. I run two Maxtor Quantum Ultra 3 (U160) SCSI drives on this board with an Adaptec controller card and my dad say the SCSI's are the problem to my machine shutting down on me. I don't believe the SCSI's are the problem. Either the Athlon CPU or the board is the problem. How do you tell? Thanks.
