at www.powernotebooks.com there are two laptops which are essentially the same thing. one is the powerpro 8:14 (http://powernotebooks.com/product.php?itemId=1565) and the other is the sager np2030 (http://powernotebooks.com/product.php?itemId=1679).
the sager is about $100 cheaper than the powerpro as i need them configured.
then the problem starts. the laptops are the exact same manufactured machine. they are both manufactured by compal hgl30. i dont know if it would be better to by it from a well known company (sager) which is also cheaper, or if the powerpro model would be better? i dont think there is really any difference in warranties. is there going to be a bunch of junk software on the sager compared to none on the powerpro?

any advice will be very helpful

You can get a Dell that is more powerful than those for a bit cheaper, the standard warranty is only a year. I have had a Dell E1505 for like 8 months, really nice. It is built really good, I dropped it about 4 times, and the DVD player button broke and they replaced no questions asked for free.
I spent 1000 on mine...

1.66 duo 2 core
1GB ram
ATI 1400X 256mb video card
15.4 widescreen
100GB HD
and microsoft word installed
DVD R/RW
and i got a free upgrade to 2 year warrenty

Pretty good deal I think, I see alot of people with these laptops too.

my gf has a dell and i dont like it :\ also, my first priority is that it is smaller than the standard 15.4 size, which i know dell offers in the m1210(?) but thats at an extreme of 12 inches
