Which laptop cpu?

Right now I have a desktop with an AMD Phenom II x4 955 cpu and 8gb of ddr3 ram. I am currently using 2gb of the ram as a ramdisk to run programs from. I would like to replace this desktop pc with a laptop that is just as fast as my desktop.

Would a laptop with an Intel i7 740qm cpu and 6gb of ram be just as fast as my desktop? What about an i7 720qm or 840qm?
 
Have you ever thought about getting one of those pcs with all of the hardware built into the screen I think they are great you can get touch screens to.
