Which Macbook is best?

Im just wondering... i want to have a basic audio - music software set up and im trying to figure out which Macbook (Macbook, Mackbook Pro ect.) would be the most effective whilst still trying to spend as little money as possible. Id be running Sibelius 6 and possibly Logic Pro... and basic word processing as well. So would a Macbook or 13" inch Macbook Pro with its dual core processor be able to handle these requirements... or would i need to look at the 15" -17" Pro i5/7 processor models? any advice much appreciated. Cheers

I love my 13" pro, I'm not sure about i5 or i7 but they are not quad core, i dont have the latest 13" but mine is fast and portable and a crisp screen. I think my 13" is good for HD video editing on the go "1440x1080 at codecs" then when at home it's hooked up to a 20" display and a wireless keyboard and mouse

How/what will you be recording?

If this is going to be used as a high level DAW with lots of tracks being edited simultaneously, then you're going to want the best CPU you can afford, but if you're working with <15 simple tracks or are using analog recording gear, then you'll be fine with the dual core models. The C2D line is old, though.

I would say a macbook is the better choice but it sometimes depends on your lifestyle.
if anyone planning on buying the professional programs such as editing film, music, etc then no need a macbook pro.
I think you'd go for the macbook unibody plastic. it is pretty much the same as the cheaper macbook pro but less fancy with a cheaper price tag.

Except the Macbook is running the older Core 2 Duos. So, while it is cheaper it's really going to cost more in the long run when he has to replace it to get a Macbook Pro with a proper amount of grunt.

Go with the 15" Macbook Pro with the i5. You can't really go wrong there, and it will handle Logic Pro and Sibelius just fine.

I would like to suggest to go with mac book pro 15.It supports Logic Pro,Sibelius&many applications as it is designed with Intel;also you can choose various configuration in it,which supports your requirement.example you can choose from

2.4GHz Intel Core i5 processor
320GB 5400-rpm hard drive
Intel HD Graphics
NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M graphics processor with 256MB GDDR3 memory

or

2.53GHz Intel Core i5 processor
500GB 5400-rpm hard drive
Intel HD Graphics
NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M graphics processor with 256MB GDDR3 memory

or

2.66GHz Intel Core i7 processor
500GB 5400-rpm hard drive
Intel HD Graphics
NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M graphics processor with 512MB GDDR3 memory

hope this information may helpful to u.....
