Which media is better??? (dvd-r wise)

Well I have been using Memorex dvd-r's for quite a while and I have not had a problem but now I need to get more and I was wondering If there is a difference between say...memorex dvd-r's and sony dvd-r's?
because I would like to buy the ones that are better of course...

So my question is.
Is there a difference between the two?
should I stick with memorex or go with sony??

Any top brands are about the same, just dont go cheapo or you will start getting alot of spinners

I personally use nothing but Taiyo Yuden 02. A stack of 100 will only cost you about 40 cents a disk with shipping and I haven't had a bad burn yet. I burn on average 3-5 disks a week. Mems and Sony both gave me coasters and they were more likely to "wear".

Get verbatims when they're on sale.

There are stores around me that sell 100 for $25 on occasion.

And a few weeks ago, sams club had 50 packs for $8.88.

Like someone said already, TY's are far and away the best, but Verbatims have always been a close 2nd. And despite what some people may say, there IS a difference between a 'good' brand, and an 'ok' brand. And if not right away, you'll surely notice a difference in a year or two, as cheap media quickly degrades.

They will play in just about anything.

Sony types are good only if they say made in Japan, cause they are made by Taiyo Yuden for Sony. Make sure you have the latest firmware for your drive.
