Ok so a new a feed hints on which motherboard to get.
I am going to be using a Core2 duo E8xxx or Core2 quad Q9xxx
I will need a PCI-E 2.0 slot and the more PCI-E slots the better

A few that I was thinking of was the

- ASUS Rampage Formula Motherboard
- ASUS Rampage Extreme Motherboard

- XFX 790i Ultra Motherboard
- ASUS Striker II Extreme Motherboard
- EVGA nForce 790i Ultra SLI Motherboard
- EVGA nForce 780i SLI FTW Motherboard
- XFX 780i Motherboard N780-ISH9

What memory should I get, DDR2 or DDR3

Do you have any suggestions as to which would be a good DDR3 Mobo and which would be a good DDR2 mobo
also how good are nForce mobo's if you don't use 3-way sli?

Thank you for any help or suggestions or just general advice

You know what mine will be...

ASUS Rampage Formula...

Stick with DDR2//

Exrtreme is nice but DDR3 and not worth the extra $$

Thats if you wanna go crossfire..

The ASUS strikers are great if you wanna go SLI.

..EVGA is cheaper in cost, and as I've stated in another thread..If I wasnt an ASUS fanboy...I'd highly recommend EVGA...they make gorgeous boards and the build quality is sweet.

The mother board is the main system board for the computer. It provides the platform to which all the other computer components are mounted or connect. In addition, a number of capabilities are built into the motherboard, such as for sound, USB and Fire Wire.
